Why is Copilot a subscription?
Copilot is a tool you use continuously — saved loads, the comparison board, broker notes, and AI scripts that stay useful week to week. Academy, which you complete once, is a one-time purchase you keep. Copilot bills monthly; Fleet bills monthly.
Do I need a DAT or load board account to use this?
No. You enter load details by hand from whatever source you use. LoadMerit doesn't connect to DAT, Truckstop, or 123Loadboard — your data stays yours.
What's the difference between Academy and Copilot?
Academy is the simulator where you practice load decisions on synthetic scenarios. Copilot applies the same engine to the real offers you enter — and includes all of the Academy content. Buying Academy makes you eligible to earn the completion certificate. Annual subscriptions must be active, and any included trial must first convert to payment. Monthly Copilot or Fleet subscriptions qualify after 90 days from subscription start, while active; time on a lower plan before an upgrade counts. You still have to complete the required curriculum and final simulation before the certificate issues.
What does Fleet add over Copilot?
Everything in Copilot, applied per truck. Each truck carries its own fixed costs (payment, insurance, target miles), so break-even is that truck's number, not a fleet average; the P&L, tax log and analysis summary filter to one truck (personal floor and negotiation lift stay account-wide); and each truck can carry a driver-pay basis — per mile or percent of linehaul — estimated on every analysis with its base always labeled, and recorded at closeout. One login, however many trucks you run.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 7 days on the monthly Copilot and Fleet plans. A card is required and validated when you start, but nothing is charged until the trial ends, and cancelling before then costs nothing. One trial per account; if you are not eligible, billing starts at checkout; annual plans bill immediately too. Academy is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription, so it has no trial — its 30-day money-back guarantee is the more generous offer.
Can I change plans later?
On a monthly subscription, moving up — Copilot to Fleet — is self-serve from your billing page: the upgrade applies to your existing subscription in place, you pay the prorated difference for the rest of the current period, and renewals bill at the new rate. No second subscription is created. Moving down a plan, and any change involving an annual subscription, goes through support.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Subscriptions cancel anytime and keep access through the current billing period — and your records are not locked away when it ends. The loads, fuel and figures you recorded stay readable, and the exports your plan included stay available, so you never have to resubscribe just to get your own data out.
